Temur Durrani likes spending lonely nights and long days working away on a deadline.
A globe-trotting newshound originally from British Columbia, Temur has covered protests in Hong Kong, crashes in Alaska, crime in Toronto, politics in Ottawa, enterprise in the Maritimes, city hall in three cities, and even the Raptors’ historic run to the NBA final.
When he’s not busy grabbing his fourth cup of coffee, Temur daydreams on long runs and gazes through his camera lens. He speaks fluently or conversationally in six languages and believes every important story is about power — its impact, inequity and diversity.
At the Winnipeg Free Press, Temur is charting big data and finding trends in lesser-known documents to investigate humanness at the core of why people consume the way they do. Tell him your money values and what you think is the future of goods.
