As government institutions and businesses increasingly make use of data and algorithms to drive policy decisions, newsrooms have responded by employing news-gathering tactics that historically have been reserved for the data and social sciences. CBC News data journalist Jacques Marcoux will provide a behind-the-scenes look at how data-driven content is generated in a fast-paced newscycle. Jacques' areas of interest include using various open-source tools for accomplishing geospatial analyses.
