  • Named Blackhawks captain in July, 2008 at just 20 years old, becoming the third-youngest player to wear the ‘C’ after Vincent Lecavalier of Tampa and Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby.
  • Runner-up to teammate Patrick Kane as the NHL’s top rookie in 2007-08.
  • Won gold and silver with Canada at the IIHF World Championships (2007, 2008).
  • Won two gold medals with Canada at the World Junior Champsionships (2006, 2007).
  • First Canadian to win gold at the Worlds and World Juniors in the same season.
  • Drafted 3rd overall by Chicago in 2006.

  • His brother David, currently at the University of North Dakota, was selected by the Islanders in the 3rd round (66th overall) in 2008.
