Winnipegger wins women's title at racquetball selection event

Jennifer Saunders of Winnipeg has won the women’s title at the Racquetball Canada National Team Selection Event over the weekend at Regina.
Saunders, the No. 1 seed, defeated the second seed Frédérique Lambert of Montreal in straight games 15-6, 15-6.
In the men’s final, the No. 1 seed Vincent Gagnon of Montreal beat second-seed Kris Odegard of Saskatoon 15-11, 10-15, 11-8.
Saunders, Gagnon and the two finalists earned National Team Selection points as they hope to be named to Canada’s team at the International Racquetball Federation 2012 World Racquetball Championship set for Aug. 4-11 at Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
