Diboll, Sears named players of week
Zack Diboll of the men's volleyball team and Lauren Sears of the women’s volleyball team have been named the University of Winnipeg Wesmen Pizza Hotline men’s and women’s players of the week.
Diboll was chosen for the second straight week after the fifth-year setter and team captain was named the Wesmen player of the game for the No. 10-ranked Wesmen in last Wednesday’s Duckworth Challenge match against the No. 2-ranked Manitoba Bisons. Ziboll had 42 assists and 19 digs in two losses to Manitoba.
Sears was selected for the fourth time this season after the Wesmen fifth-year captain was named the No. 5–ranked Wesmen player of the game in the Duckworth Challenge against the No.6 – ranked Bisons. In two wins over the Bisons to close out the U of W’s regular season last week, Sears posted 21 kills and two service aces.
