Winnipeg Free Press - ONLINE EDITION

The Networking Survival Guide

This is a revised edition of a 2003 book on networking. It takes the approach of networking from both the view of an initiator and attendee as well as being a subscriber to a social networking site. The author, Diane Darling, puts a positive spin on the concept of networking, helps readers to "psych" themselves up and provides excellent advice and tips for beginners. Finally, Darling outlines best practices for qualifying a networking event, professional ethics, body language, remembering names and follow-up strategies. A must read for young professionals.
