Catching the Wolf of Wall Street

This is the second book from Jordan Belfort (now in paperback) about his drug-fuelled transformation into the Wolf of Wall Street – a depraved super salesman who rose from the obscurity of door-to-door meat sales to lead a boiler room full of predatory young phone jockeys at Stratton Oakmont to unimagined riches – in Belfort’s case, a million dollars a week.

Keep an open mind and don’t expect any blinding insights here. It’s a tale not so much about business as about the unalloyed greed and scheming that blasted this pump and dump operation into the financial stratosphere.

Belfort is a gifted writer (who cut his literary teeth at the feet of cellmate Tommy Chong, of all people). His first book is a fun-house tale, full of dripping excess and madcap exploits. This one deals with the reckoning, where the author, in the clutches of the FBI, makes amends.
