Woman's car stolen at gunpoint at St. Vital mall, police say

A woman had her vehicle stolen at gunpoint in the parking lot of the St. Vital Shopping Centre on Friday, police said.

The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Police said a man in the parking lot said something to the 27-year-old woman as she was leaving the car she'd just parked. The suspect pulled out a gun and demanded the woman's car keys. She handed over the keys and the suspect drove off, police said.

The suspect is described as male, Caucasian, 15 or 16 years old, wearing a white ski jacket and dark coloured toque.

Police are still looking for the vehicle. It is a 2008 white Volkswagen Rabbit, Manitoba license plate, ERK 959.

Anyone with any information on the crime or vehicle is urged to contact police at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
