Water gone but traffic still blocked on Route 90

Water has been cleared from the southbound lane of Route 90 beneath Portage Avenue after a water main break about 9:45 a.m.

Crews have cleaned up the mess, and the street has been scraped and sanded, according to a witness.

The southbound lane remains closed at Ness Avenue, however, it is expected to reopen early this afternoon. There is also no access to Route 90 from westbound Portage Avenue.

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting all motorists, if possible, avoid the area until further notice.
