Mark Stobbe (left), has been charged with killing his wife, Beverly Rowbotham, in 2000.

The jury at the trial for Mark Stobbe now numbers 13 after a juror failed to show up today.

Justice Chris Martin of Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench dismissed a juror who said he was having "hardship" continuing to sit through the two-month trial which began last week.

"He gave us a note," the judge told the remaining jurors.

"We tried to find him... We will discharge the juror. You will now be a jury of 13 instead of 14.

"There will be further consequences but it is not something you have to concern yourself with."

Stobbe has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the slaying of his wife Beverly Rowbotham in Oct. 2000.
